The Directorate of Agriculture Production and Extension Services provides overall development of policies and strategies for improving agricultural production and productivity in South Sudan.
It ensures the deployment of qualified and adequate extension workers/agents in bomas, payams, counties in states and equip them with the right materials and knowledge.

The directorate facilitates the provision of agricultural services including agricultural technologies, best cropping systems, credit, market linkages, and coordinates with state level Ministries of Agriculture to ensure that workable mechanisms of cooperation in terms of execution and implementation of proper Crop Production are established.

Lastly the directorate supports procedures and measures in accordance with Government Policy and makes annual evaluation of Government Staff and programmes.
